Slabs & Foundations

Lay the strongest foundation for your project

Everything you build later — block walls, framing, tile, cabinets — depends on how flat, strong and dry the slab underneath is. We prepare the subgrade, set forms to grade, place the vapor barrier and the reinforcement called for in your plans, then pour and finish the slab so it is ready for the next trade.

We pour monolithic slabs (footing and floor in one pour) and slabs inside stem walls for new homes, room additions, garages, lanais and sheds — for homeowners and for builders who need a dependable concrete crew.

Why it lasts

Built for Southwest Florida

Details that make the difference in the heat, the rain and hurricane season.

  • Moisture from below

A continuous vapor barrier under the slab helps keep ground moisture out of floors and walls, which matters with Florida’s high water table.

  • Sandy soil needs compaction

Florida fill settles if it is not compacted. We compact and level the base before a single yard of concrete arrives.

  • Heat changes the pour

We schedule pours for the cooler part of the day and keep the concrete moist while it cures, so it gains strength instead of cracking from drying too fast.

FAQ

Slabs & Foundations: common questions

What is the difference between a monolithic slab and a stem wall foundation?

A monolithic slab is poured in one piece, with the thickened footing edge and the floor together. A stem wall foundation uses a footing and a short block wall first, and the slab is poured inside it. Stem walls are common when the floor has to sit higher than the surrounding grade. Your plans or engineer specify which one is required.

How soon can we build on a new slab?

Concrete keeps gaining strength for weeks, but block or framing can usually start within a few days once the slab has set and the inspection is approved. We give you a realistic timeline for your project.

Do you pour slabs for room additions?

Yes. Additions are a big part of our work. We can handle the footing, stem wall, slab, block walls, tie beam and stucco, so the whole shell is built by one crew.

Is the estimate free?

Yes, free and with no obligation. Send your plans if you have them and we will price the job from them.
